    Description

These beautiful dolls by Swiss artist Heidi Ott are approximately 18" tall.
This boy doll has strawberry blonde hair and painted blue eyes. He is wearing the German costume of lederhosen, and these shorts look and feel like genuine suede. There are dark brown suspenders and embroidered trim, with a white embroidered shirt that closes with a snap in the back and a gorgeous hand knit sweater. He also has hand knit socks and what look like genuine leather shoes.
His head, lower arms and hands are vinyl and his body is hard stuffed cloth.
He is in excellent condition and has not been played with, although his sweater looks slightly faded.
His sister is wearing a dress, pinafore, bloomers and socks and leather shoes.
She is Eugenia, K4, one of the Karrer Children group from 1986, with original tags.  She is approximately 19" tall. Her head, lower arms and hands are vinyl. Her legs are disc jointed, her arms are floppy jointed. Her body is hard stuffed cloth. Like all of Heidi Ott's dolls, very good to hold!
Eugenia is in very good displayed and unplayed with condition. She has her original hang tags.
Before Heidi Ott mass produced dolls, she had a cottage industry in her hometown in Switzerland. Eugenia is from those early days. Heidi Ott designed the dolls, had the head and hands cast in vinyl and she hand painted them herself. She and others in the village sewed the clothing. Eugenia even has adorable hand knit socks! The Karrer children were a group of dolls she modeled on a family she knew growing up.
