Pacific Greyhound Lines. No date. Ca. 1940
    Description:
Pamphlet 6 1/2 x 4 inches opening to color pictorial / pictographic map, 11 1/4 x 18 1/2 inches on sheet 11 3/4 x 19 1/8 inches, blue black and white illustrations and text on verso. Light creasing to center right edge of map, tiny separation at lower left fold intersection; overall clean and bright condition. Greyhound issued many striking pictorial maps to promote popular travel within the United States in the twenties, thirties and forties; this is perhaps the iconic example. With a World's Fair on both seaboards, the highlights of the lower 48 were spread before the traveller with humor and colorful images. The subtitle of the map lays out its purpose "setting forth the services of The Greyhound Lines and a few principal connecting bus lines."
