The Fiji 5 Dollar banknote from the 2013 series depicts one of the country's local flora and fauna. Its front design features a kulawai red-throated lorikeet bird perched on a branch, a Kato ni Masima salt basket, a domodomo as a registration device, and the national emblem. The reverse side features a Fijian crested iguana, a native balaka palm tree and masiratu flower, a domodomo, and the bank logo. The note is 136 x 67 mm in size and does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a watermark shadow image of a Fijian head is visible. The note is printed on a Safeguard, De La Rues polymer substrate.
